A stylish coffee table book featuring 13 curated photo essays of brutalism-inspired interiors
Interior designer Pieter Peulen first began sharing photos of his own concrete home on social media as a personal project, a way to document his love of minimalism and raw, unfiltered materials. His signature style quickly struck a chord, attracting a huge audience: today, with more than half a million followers on Instagram and TikTok, Peulen has become known to many as ‘the guy with the concrete house’.
With this book, Pieter takes his passion a step further. He set out to explore the homes of kindred spirits who embrace concrete living and the bold yet elegant language of brutalism-inspired design. Each project featured here was thoughtfully curated and photographed by Pieter with his analogue camera, revealing not only striking interiors but also the stories and philosophies that shaped them.
The result is an intimate series of powerful, but at the same time, refined photo essays. They are Pieter’s homage to the beauty of raw materials and to the character that concrete brings to a space. Both a personal journey and a celebration of brutalism-inspired architecture, Concrete Homes seeks to spark inspiring conversations about the beauty of designed spaces and the ways in which the built environment shapes our lives
